EPISODE 6
This sixth episode of Shell Shockers Trivia Night! At this point, I was noticing that the social media version of the poster was the most important and shareable graphic for the event.

There is so much packed into this episode's design. Three different project files were used, two Autodesk Maya files, and one Paint(dot)net file to put everything together.

The main scene consisted of a green egg, a skull with a custom textured wizard hat, and my streaming logo all inside a big container with frosted glass on all sides. The next scene superimposed here is one with just the 3D logo of Shell Shockers and my custom designed egg with glowing glasses. In Paint(dot)net, I added them together with a mix of blend modes and effects. I wanted the "monster" egg in the center to have a face/personality different from could be achieved within the game, so I drew a 2½D face atop it. This whole episode is Halloween themed from content to colors, but was delayed to November as dated.

The design of this poster started an idea to create Shell Shockers lore from the posters themselves (certain storylines were already being created during the live events, but new world expanding stories would be included in future poster designs from here on)

EPISODE 5
For the fifth episode of Trivia Night, I tried some new things. One was making the social media poster more interactive, by featuring a redeemable item code within the image.

I also used the current meta of the Shell Shockers community, that Twitch streamer Graysocean was the face of the game, to bring some relevancy to the event for those who know of the meta but not of Trivia Night. He would always use a blue egg and golden wings as his customization, so any viewer who saw the poster instantly connected that their streamer was a part of the event's world.

Another new addition to the designs of Trivia Night, was now there was a scene created that was an overlay for the giveaway at the end. This episode is also matching the theme with current events of the player base, as many of them were starting school back up around this time.

The information format introduced in the previous episode continued on in this episode. Highlighting the color that most stands out without being too jarring.
EPISODE 4
This Trivia Night Poster was the start of the new social media format! At this point, I had made a checklist of the specific images I needed to create for the backgrounds of Trivia Night.

I took inspiration from the kid-friendly approach to promotional design Blue Wizard Digital already used for their Shell Shockers game updates. They keep their information in contained bubbles or in obvious sections in the image.

The information of the event would be located at the bottom center with the thematic graphic placed above and behind. Using a hierarchy of font size for the information, I made the date/time and "Win Prizes!" the most important elements of the image. Most people who play Shell Shockers don't care about anything unless they can win an in-game item code from attending.

The theme was for the second time tied to current events (in the western hemisphere, where most of the players are) and I made it hot summer themed. I also started experimenting with how the elements in my streaming logo can be altered to help the theme, in this case, the red protruding border was a cooler for drinks. This is one of the top designs in my opinion.
EPISODE 3
For the third episode of Trivia Night, I made my logo larger to match Shell Shockers's logo in importance.

I also tested new textures for the environment of the poster. The colors were more to the JWBerry3D brand and brought more of an urgency feeling.
EPISODE 2
After the success of the first trivia night, BWD requested more. This design added on to the previous poster and was made to represent an end-of-year holiday party. I got access to some of the 3D models they use in-game for the eggs and some of the weapons to make this.

Since the company uses Blender and I use Autodesk Maya, I don't receive their rendering materials or color vertices. I often think of other creative ways to get around retexturing the models. In this poster, I textured them as red and green presents and modelled a bag to hold the egg and some of the presents.

This episode was also the first time I made a social media version of the main poster. (social version being 1:1 square ratio, while the main was always 16:9 ratio)

The main poster for Shell Shockers Trivia Night Ep 1, previously called Shell Shockers Quiz.

EPISODE 1
The community event started from a day after teaching class, where I joined a voice channel in the Blue Wizard Digital Discord server and started asking math questions to the members there. WizardSupport, one of the staff, joined in and offered in-game rewards to the participants and thus, it was born.

The first official Trivia Night that happened was called Shell Shockers Quiz or Shell Pop Quiz as I wasn't sure what it would become yet. I created the poster and the OBS scene layout the day of the event.

The plan was to use the 3D environment I created for my Twitch Stream banners as the background for the poster.
